Paramount's Terra Mitica is just outside Benidorm and the first real theme park in Spain. The character of the coast begins to change and the mountains edge in towards the sea as we head north towards Valencia. Just above Benidorm is the town of L’Alfas del Pi, where foreign residents, mainly English, actually outnumber the native Spaniards. The next centre, Altea, is one of the most pleasant sites on the Costa Blanca. New building has not destroyed the character of the lovely Old Town, where many artists have their studios.
