Ammochostos (Famagusta) town is in the zone occupied by the Turks, but much of what was once Ammochostos (Famagusta) District lies across the divide. This is an agricultural based area with fertile lands and strong exports of crops. However, to the southeast of Famagusta is an area famous for golden sand beaches ideal for children. Ayia Napa is very popular and has become a major clubbing resort. Other attractions in the area include traditional bouzouki and Cypriot dancing shows, a Dinosaur Park and Water World with the biggest wave pool in Europe, water sports and rock jumping. Boat trips and cruises are popular, taken from the harbour, which is over looked by a 16th-century Venetian monastery. From Cape Greco the coastline has many rocky coves and small sandy beaches which are ideal for snorkeling and boating picnics. Fig
Tree Bay, Flamingo
Bay and Pernera
beaches are among the most popular and have
cafés and beach bars. The
small inland town of Paralimni also provides entertainment
for the tourist with restaurants, discotheques and cafés. AIRPORT For more information on Cyprus Property and to arrange your viewing visit: |
