Stockholm

Is a city of much water (The Venice of the North), many narrow streets and alleys with public transport being the most comfortable way to get around. Real estate in Sweden is varied with some outstanding properties. The subway stations are what separate the different parts of the city. Stockholm is a city of many beautiful parts, with each part of town having its own distinctions.

T-Centralen, are the typical down town station with traffic jams and a crowd in constant motion. It is the part known as City or Norrmalm and is were you can choose to walk alongside the water to other parts of the city:

Djurgarden is an island ideal for walks and picnics.

Östermalm, the most elegant part of town where some of the city's most impressive buildings are found like the Ostermalms Saluhall or go though The Kings Garden (Kungstradgarden). Skeppsholmen is also close by were you can take one of the ferries out to the wonderfully magical archipelago and you will still, geographically at least, be within the borders of Stockholm.

Södermalm used to be the home of the working class of the late 1800s and is now the home to many cafés, galleries and pubs.

Gamla Stan (the Old Town) is traditional Stockholm. It is made up of cobbled streets and narrow seventeenth-century alleys (the smallest one being only 67cm wide!) create an atmosphere like nowhere else. The ambitious decorations and ornaments of the old houses should not be missed. This area was what used to be all of Stockholm around 700 years ago.

The Royal Family no longer lives at the Royal Castle but can be found at Drottningholm, a great place to stroll through their lovely gardens.
