Mar Menor has salt water lake next to the mediterranean sea. Historic and well documented this much visited sea is called "Mar Menor".

Mar Menor has a 73km coastline with beaches and transparent, shallow waters (7 metres maximum depth) and with a surface area of 170 km2 this makes the lagoon of Mar Menor the biggest salt water lake in Europe.

South of this small sea are the islands of the Ciervo, Perdiguera, Mayor, Redonda and Sujeto which indicate the volcanic origis of the area.
